This actual guitar was started and built by Jean Larrivee himself – it is the most valuable of the batch because it was one of two prototypes made.
The LV-10 was going to be Jean’s personal guitar, which is why it is not numbered. He hand picked the best woods, the neck, and it was made with the best materials because it was to be used as the model guitar — photographed for magazine publishing as well as on display at NAMM. Jean’s son Matthew did the inlay himself. It really is a spectacular work of art.
When we spoke to Matthew, he told us that if it were to be numbered, it would be #0 of 50. Can’t beat that!
